Dear Abeeku

Dear Abeeku,

In this cold April night, in Prague, I remember your magic smile...
The silence in the middle of the night helps to breathe, escape from the daily rush; and also helps to concentrate our minds on the projects ahead, that after so much effort are finally becoming reality. And in this precise moment, I am imagining your smile and  I still cannot believe you had to  leave us a few days ago, unexpectedly.

We are still trying to understand why, and how... as if there was a hidden answer... and the answer is another challenge to be solved with perseverance, optimism and patience, like you use to guide us, to explore solutions to bring clean energy and wealth to families in rural Ghana, to families in West Africa and the World.

Dear Abeeku, dear professor, my admired Ghanaian “father”, rest in peace and be sure that we will keep your light shinning; we will celebrate the memory of your magic smile in every step we take to make energy available to each and everyone.

To Professor Abeeku Brew-Hammond  (February 1955 – March 2013),  in memoriam.

Cradle of mankind

Africa has always been the mother of our beloved Europe and occident.  It has spoiled us and cared for us by giving anything we ever needed. And what it got left, we took it mercilessly as if we deserved it by legitimate right. We have mistreated it and fed on it to satisfy the needs we assume to be basic like access to food, healthcare, and education.

Meanwhile we have prospered and evolved to a point we have been able to savor the luxury of time. Time to think study and acquire abstract concepts, such as freedom, or the so called human rights we boast about and feel so proud of. But the real world is cruel and unfair and doesn’t even resemble to our naïve vision. The truth is our liberties and rights are not inherent in mankind; they have an expensive cost, the cost of time, a time we cheaply buy at Africa’s expense.

Since, we have acquired new global perspectives and started arguing about whose ethics are better, Africa has entered a dark aisle without faith or hope, that results more and more evident hence impossible to ignore.

Being aware of that, we are no longer willing to sacrifice neither our principles nor what we understand that is innocent and pure to sustain life quality, albeit we haven’t completely emancipated from mother Africa quite yet.

That is the reason why NGO’s, private companies, governments, universities and even from home, we have started acting consequently sacrificing our own time and resources to help the world and ourselves.

ENERGY FOR ALL Project recognizes the problem and brings viable solutions taking the complexity of the situation here and there into account.

We understand that focusing on granting energy access is part of the solution in order to solve basic life quality issues related to health, education, access to information and nutrition. We pay special attention to Sub-Saharan Africa in accordance with the challenges approached in the MDG’s, being that region one of the poorest in the world

On the same line, we educate society over the need of investment and coordination of the different actors involved in order to make viable the installation of an efficient electric supplying system.

Among the latest actions ENERGY FOR ALL has brought the situation successfully to both the Spanish and European highest legislative chambers ALL in order give evidence and promote possible further actions.
It finally materialized in a preposition of law in the Spanish parliament (Congreso de los Diputados) and a law resolution of the European parliament.
