Dear
Abeeku,
In this cold April night, in Prague, I remember your
magic smile...
The silence in the middle of the
night helps to breathe, escape from the daily rush; and also helps to
concentrate our minds on the projects ahead, that after so much effort are
finally becoming reality. And in this precise moment, I am imagining your smile
and I still cannot believe you had to leave us a few days ago, unexpectedly.
We are still
trying to understand why, and how... as if there was a hidden answer... and the
answer is another challenge to be solved with perseverance, optimism and
patience, like you use to guide us, to explore solutions to bring clean energy and
wealth to families in rural Ghana, to families in West Africa and the World.
Dear
Abeeku, dear professor, my admired Ghanaian “father”, rest in peace and be sure
that we will keep your light shinning; we will celebrate the memory of your
magic smile in every step we take to make energy available to each and
everyone.
Pol Arranz-Piera
To Professor Abeeku Brew-Hammond (February 1955 – March 2013), in memoriam.
